Teacher Training: Technology use and Improving Student Engagement
Timeframe: 6 Weeks (each)
Material Developed: PowerPoint Presentations and Step-by-Step Guidance
Communication Method: Zoom
Under my contractual obligations with the U.S. State Department's English Specialist program, I conducted workshops aimed at equipping teachers with the necessary technological skills to facilitate effective knowledge sharing and resource dissemination to support student success amidst the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. The initial phase of the training centered on familiarizing educators with the Learning Management System (LMS) Blackboard. Teachers embarked on a journey to grasp methods of maintaining student engagement within this new educational landscape, fostering meaningful discussions to enhance comprehension, and mitigating the risk of burnout. The primary goal of the training was to bolster teachers' confidence in utilizing technology, leading to observable enhancements in students' learning outcomes due to the refinement of their online teaching methodologies.
